Upcoming elections of Chancellor of the University of Oxford

The University of Oxford is set to hold its Chancellor elections in 2024, following the announcement of Chris Patten's retirement. The election will take place in the Michaelmas term of 2024, and the university's global community of alumni will be eligible to vote online.

Several high-profile candidates have announced their candidacies. These include Lord William Hague, a former leader of the Conservative Party, Lady Elish Angiolini, the former Lord Advocate of Scotland, and Lord Peter Mandelson, a key figure in UK politics. Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan and an Oxford alumnus, is also a candidate. If elected, Khan would be the first Chancellor of Oxford from Pakistan.

The Chancellor is a symbolic figure at Oxford, presiding over important ceremonies and representing the university globally through advocacy and fundraising efforts.
